Empowering refugees and displaced people in Ukraine to strengthen and maintain their own wellbeing
Psychosocial Peacebuilding
Why now? How to do it? Can you also learn it?
IAHV Peacebuilding Programs effectively transform the mindsets, attitudes, wellbeing and behaviour of individuals and communities engaged in or affected by conflict and violence.
Cooperating with other organisations in a holistic approach, IAHV lays a strong psycho-social foundation in which other peace and development efforts can take root.
Supplying this missing link in peacebuilding, we turn personal transformation into greater peacebuilding impact.
IAHV also advocates and builds capacity for psychosocial peacebuilding programming and awareness on an international level, including the structural integration of MHPSS and Peacebuilding.

āI think this will address the roots of conflict, the psychological dimension that nobody deals with or comes close to. They think it is something very complicated. They need to find solutions for difficult cases and treat each case separately. However, this is an effective group approach for psycho-social issues.āĀ Sanaa, social worker, Beirut
āYou send people to a workshop for a week and you figure theyāre going to feel better. But to see something one year after is pretty amazing.āĀ Dr. Emma Seppala, Associate Director Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford

šāØ Our team in Armenia continues providing Healing, Resilience and Empowerment workshops for some of the 100.000 refugees displaced from the Karabagh conflict, and to volunteers supporting them.š§š»āāOn March 4-6, we had 2 HRE courses organized in the Lori region - the rural community of Dsegh and the urban community of Alaverdi. The participants were displaced women, as well as local female volunteers who support them in their NGOs and local municipalities.šSome people admitted that they came to the course with much skepticism but feel so wonderful and grateful after the course. Many of them want to continue to the next levels and feel inspired to become HRE volunteers themselves._Nona: These exercises help to completely relax my mind. I even try to think about something, and no thoughts come.__Karine: Honestly, when I came here I didnāt take it seriously and didnāt think it would help. But now my overwhelming tiredness is totally gone.__Marianna: I would love to learn how to teach these courses here in our region; there is nothing like that here, no similar opportunities for the population. After work I often feel that my head will explode but now after doing these exercises I feel so light.__Lusine: I didnāt trust in the power of this course before coming here. But now I love it so much. I really feel that this is emotional hygiene for me.__Zara: This was so good! I feel especially good because I see that these people around me are so happy after this course. When I see these people being positive and relaxed, I feel reassured that this course has been really effective.__Syuzanna: I was telling about this course to other women in the village, and there are so many people that want to do it. Would you come again and work with a larger group?_#peace #peacebuilding #PeacebuildingAndConflictPrevention #PeaceOfMind #armenian #IAHV #meditationContact in Armenia: Arpine, +374 91309574
